Recently, Mrs. Penelope Hall Przkop, NHS alumni, visited Northwood High School to speak to students about her successful writing and art career, as well as share some exciting news about a scholarship opportunity that is not only rewarding for the chosen Northwood Senior, but is an award very close to Mrs. Przkop’s heart. Penelope Przkop “established the John & Penelope Defining Courage Award to spotlight the value of personal courage and the profound impact it has not only on the path our lives take but also on the quality of that life.” Beginning with the graduating class of 2018, $500.00 will be awarded annually to a selected senior at Northwood High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. The primary intent of the award is to support the recipient’s career goals as well as educate and inspire the recipient, the other applicants, and the broader community.
If you feel you, or any Northwood senior, epitomizes courageousness, please read and fill out the attached application form. Applications are due Sunday, April 1 and videos must be uploaded by Wednesday, April 4, 2018.
