The philosophy of the English Department of Northwood includes our constant attention to literacy as the basis for success in the academic arena. We ask that parents take part in monitoring the summer reading assignments given to all of our students. Projects, essays, and/or tests based on summer reading will be required within the first week of school in the fall even for those students having English class in the second semester.
Students in advanced English classes (Honors, AP, DE, or GT noted with an asterisk) will read two books while all other
students will read one.
